Cutting-clamping technique

Connected in one turn

Cutting-clamping technique or Insulation displacement (IDC) technology is another standard method in the production of electrical connections. It is primarily used in the assembly of flat ribbon cables, but it can also be applied to process both single and multi-conductor cables.

As the name suggests, insulation displacement connectors are used as connecting elements. In the first step, these connectors cut through the insulation of the cable being processed, establishing an electrical connection by clamping directly onto the wire.

The selection of suitable connectors for each type of conductor and the given voltage range is part of our commitment to quality for our customers.

The main application areas

The main application areas of insulation displacement (IDC) technology are household appliance technology, heating and building technology, as well as the automotive industry.

Schneider Cable Harness Assembly utilizes RAST connectors, which are tamper-proof due to their color coding. In this regard, we rely on products from market leaders such as Lumberg and Stocko.

From these manufacturers, we also have semi-automatic machines to ensure the secure and efficient production of your orders.
